Balancing layer

Balancing foils

Balancing foils are applied to the reverse side of wood-based panels that are veneered or coated on one side. Their purpose is to balance stresses and prevent warping.

Applications: Wood-based panels for furniture, interior doors, door frames, panels, worktop undersides and similar applications
Colours: Natural, brown, dark brown and black;
additional colours on request
Widths: Up to approx. 2,500 mm, special widths by arrangement
Basis weights: 55–230 g/m²

Priming foils

Priming foils are synthetic-resin-impregnated papers used as a base for paint finishes, coatings or decorative papers.

Applications: Wood-based panels, industrial coating processes, paint finishes and decorative surfaces
Colours: Predominantly white and light beige;
additional colours on request
Widths: Up to approx. 2,100 mm
Basis weights: 55–230 g/m²

Decorative surface

Pre-impregnated papers / print-base paper

Pre-impregnated papers are resin-impregnated papers used as print-base paper for decorative surfaces, print substrates and coatable wood-based materials.

Applications: Covering wood-based panels and serving as a print base for decorative surfaces
Colours: White, beige, brown, grey and black / decorative base colours
Widths: Up to approx. 2,600 mm
Basis weights: 55–140 g/m²
Supply format: Rolls and sheets by arrangement

Release film for pressing processes

OPP release film

OPP, also known as BOPP, is a transparent, heat-resistant release film with good release properties for phenolic and melamine surfaces. It is placed between the press and the product during pressing to prevent adhesion.

Applications: HPL and other film pressing processes; separation between press and product

Packaging and protection

Wrapping and interleaving paper

Wrapping paper protects delicate surfaces during packaging, interleaving and transport.

Applications: Glass, delicate panels and surface-sensitive products

Veneer processing

Powdered veneer splicing adhesive

Powdered veneer splicing adhesive is mixed with water and used to join decorative veneers on veneer splicing machines.

Applications: Joining decorative veneers on veneer splicing machines

Technical selection guide

Select the right balancing foil.

The appropriate balancing foil depends on the combination of the front-side construction and the thickness of the core panel.

Front layer, core and balancing foil work together.

As a rule, the thinner the core panel and the heavier the front-side coating, the greater the balancing effect required.
